You can mess around with the options ingame - but always make sure that myFullscreenFlag 0 is still valid in the text file. This worked for me -> the game seems to be still in Fullscreen mode but the black screen at the start was gone. "myFullscreenFlag 1" to "myFullscreenFlag 0". Open "%Documents%\World in Conflict\Game Options.txt" with notepad and change: Verify WIC Soviet Assault Game Cache.) -> might be optionalģ. If the game works in DirectX 9 but not in DirectX 10 mode, repeat step 6 onwards to re-enable DirectX 9 mode. Enable windowed mode through game settings and enable DirectX 10 while you're at it.
